KUALA LUMPUR: A housewife, who alleged assault by actress Nur Fazura, was drunk when the incident occurred at a nightclub four years ago, a magistrate’s court was told yesterday.

Information technology consultant Shahrizan Mohd Rodzi, 35, said she saw housewife Geraldine Mariana Wong enjoying herself while drinking liquor with some friends.

“If she (the victim) wasn’t drinking, she usually sits and talks casually with her friends.

“But that night, it was obvious that she was drunk and talked aimlessly,” said Shahrizan.

To a question by Nur Fazura’s counsel, Mohd Fakhrul Azman, Shahrizan, who is also the actress’ friend, said she saw Geraldine asking Nur Fazura’s boyfriend Ahmad Razman Ahmad Razali to refill her drink.

To another question by Mohd Fakhrul, Shahrizan said she saw Nur Fazura and Geraldine fighting and pulling each other’s hair, before the actress took out her shoe with her right hand and swung it.

She said the club’s bouncer then arrived and broke up the fight and asked her (Shahrizan) to send Nur Fazura home.

Shahrizan said she told Nur Fazura not to lodge a police report on the incident as the actress’ dress was torn and her shoe was gone.

Nur Fazura, 25, whose full name is Nur Fazura Shariffuddin, is charged with causing hurt to Geraldine, 31, at the Luna Bar, Pacific Regency Hotel and Apartments, Jalan Kia Peng, here, about 1.20am on Dec 19, 2004.

The winner of the Malaysian Film Festival’s Most Promising Actress award (2004) faces a maximum one year’s jail or fine of RM2,000, or both, if convicted under Section 323 of the Penal Code.
