MTV Asia Awards 2008 is back and it is bigger, better and bolder.

Counting down to the awards show in Genting City of Entertainment on Aug 2, MTV is offering Malaysians the exclusive opportunity to win passes to attend Asia’s biggest pan-regional music event.

All you have to do is gather at the Mosh Pit Audition in Zouk, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur for the party on July 19 from 6pm to 9pm.

The wildest, loudest and most passionate music fans stand chances to get on the MTV Asia Awards 2008 red carpet at 8pm on Aug 2.

MTV viewers at the audition party in Zouk can expect some exciting performances by local acts as well as the opportunity to win MTV Asia Awards 2008 premiums.

More importantly, there will be the chance to win the Golden Ticket to watch the awards live in Genting.

In addition to the music, there will be models strutting down the runway in the latest fashion wear at the EDC Fashion Show at the same event. The event’s hosts are VJs Utt and Taya.

Aside from various contests being held with official media partners HITZ.fm and MY FM, this will be the only chance for MTV fans to win tickets to attend the awards as its tickets are not for sale.

This year’s awards will see 16 categories, 10 of which will be determined by MTV viewers’ votes.

For the regional categories, Asia’s hot favourites Stefanie Sun (Singapore) and Datuk Siti Nurhaliza (Malaysia) have been nominated once again, giving the other local artistes a run for their money.

In the Malaysian scene, “Terengganu Superman” Faizal Tahir, Mando-pop prince Nicholas Teo and Pop Shuvit are the other nominees.

One of the highlights of the awards will be the design of the trophy, which transcends the conventional template of other award trophies. It is a heavyweight item - a gold bar in the shape of an “M”. The trophy is plated in 24K gold by Risis, MTV’s official partner for the trophy. Each trophy comes in a customised velvet case and envelope.
