TIRAI 2008 bakal berlabuh dan bagi menyambut kedatangan Tahun Baru 2009, 8TV akan menghidangkan rancangan menarik khas untuk penonton setia saluran televisyen itu.
Saluran 8TV bakal diisi dengan program yang menarik bermula pada malam tahun baru. Antaranya Britney For The Record, VHI Hip Hip Honors, 2008 MTV Movie Awards, Forbes Top 20 Cash Queen Of Music, Shui Hu The Soccer Heros, Gamera The Brave dan Alexandria (filem Indonesia).
Program Britney For The Record menyaksikan MTV merakam dan mendapatkan segala berita sensasi mengenai jatuh bangun kehidupan ratu kontroversi, Britney Spears.
Anda juga dapat menyaksikan apa yang berlaku di belakang tabir sewaktu majlis Video Music Awards berlangsung. Selain itu, dipaparkan sesi rakaman album terbaru Britney, harapan dan persediaannya untuk kembali menawan industri muzik.
VHI Hip Hop Honors adalah anugerah yang berprestij bagi semua penyanyi Hip Hop terkenal. Tahun 2008 menyaksikan deretan penyanyi hip-hop seperti Naughty By Nature, Cypress Hill, De La Soul, Slick Rick and Too $hort diberi anugerah bagi memperingati muzik mereka yang pernah menjadi siulan dan ikutan satu ketika dulu.
MTV Movie Awards ke-17 pula program untuk mengiktiraf mereka yang terbabit dalam bidang perfileman dalam beberapa kategori menarik.
Diacarakan pelakon dan pelawak terkenal, Mike Myers. Anda juga berpeluang menyaksikan aksi bertenaga The PussyCat Dolls, Coldplay dan ramai lagi!
Senarai Forbes.com, Top 20 Cash Queens of Music, menyenaraikan 20 penyanyi berpendapatan paling tinggi dan berpengaruh.
Pencarian ini berdasarkan penjualan tiket konsert, barangan eksklusif seperti minyak wangi, jenama pakaian mereka dan sebagai jurucakap produk. Madonna berjaya mengungguli senarai diikuti Celine Dion dan Shakira.
Filem Shui Hu, The Soccer Heroes 1 diadaptasi daripada buku klasik Cina, The Water Margin. Shui Hu Soccer memaparkan minat mendalam seorang pemuda terhadap sukan bolasepak.
Sementara itu filem Gamera The Brave mengisahkan Toru (Ryo Tomioka), 11, kanak-kanak pendiam yang tinggal di kawasan pantai di Ishema bersama bapanya Kousuke (Kanji Tsuda).
Selepas kematian ibu, hubungan Toru dan bapanya renggang. Satu hari Toru menjumpai anak penyu di tepi pantai. Anak penyu itu diberi nama Toto dan Toru mengambil keputusan menyimpannya sebagai haiwan peliharaan.
Begitu cepat masa berlalu, Toto boleh dikatakan unik dan membesar bukan hanya sebagai penyu biasa, malah berupaya untuk terbang.
Satu hari Toto terbang meninggalkan Toru. Tidak lama kemudian bandar Ishema diserang makhluk gergasi dari laut dan mendekati Toru dan kawannya.
Alexandria menceritakan Bagas (Marcel Chandrawinata) sudah lama menaruh hati pada jiran dan teman baiknya sejak kecil bernama Alexandria (Julie Estelle) tetapi tidak berani meluahkannya. Bagas mula menyedari teman karibnya jauh berubah dan lantas meluahkan rahsia hatinya kepada Alexandria.

Madonna, Ritchie Deny “Inaccurate” Divorce Deal Report
LONDON - Pop superstar Madonna and her former British husband Guy Ritchie denied Wednesday an “inaccurate” report that she had agreed to pay him up to 60 million pounds (92 million dollars) in a divorce deal.
But the former couple, who were granted a “quickie” divorce last month, said they were “happy” with the terms of their separation, stressing that the welfare of their children was the most important factor to them.
“We have tried to maintain a dignified silence regarding the details of our divorce for the last few months whilst accepting the obvious media interest,” they said in a joint statement.
“A misleading and inaccurate statement, specifically in relation to the sums of money involved, was wrongly issued” earlier this week, they added.
“The financial details of the settlement will remain private, save to say that both of us are happy with our agreement. Our primary concern, like any co-parents, is the care and wellbeing of our children.”
The statement came after reports Tuesday quoting Madonna’s spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg that Ritchie would receive between 76 and 92 million dollars (49 to 60 million pounds) in cash and property in the divorce deal.
The reports said British filmmaker Ritchie would receive cash and property including the couple’s country retreat Ashcombe House in Wiltshire, southwest England, as well as the London pub they bought together, The Punchbowl.
Madonna and Ritchie were granted a “quickie” divorce at London’s High Court on November 21 on the grounds of his unreasonable behaviour, a month after announcing their eight-year marriage was over.
A decree nisi is a provisional decree of divorce and must be followed by a decree absolute about six weeks later which legally dissolves the marriage and means that the couple are free to marry other people.
The couple’s two sons, Rocco, eight, and three-year-old David Banda — whom they adopted in Malawi — will split their time between Britain and the US under the terms of the divorce, reports said.
Madonna’s 12-year-old daughter Lourdes, from a previous relationship with fitness trainer Carlos Leon, is set to live with her mother in the US. - AFP/vm
